Sustainability Report for 2024 Published

AkvaFuture has published its sustainability report for the 2024 financial year.

Key figures highlighted in the report include:

🐟 97.6% survival rate in production

👤 Only one reported workplace incident

♻️ Several tonnes of dry and wet sludge collected and reused in new value chains

This is the company’s second sustainability report. As a small enterprise, Akvafuture is not required under the Norwegian Accounting Act to prepare sustainability reporting. Nevertheless, we see clear value in doing so, as it increases transparency while also strengthening our own awareness and providing a solid foundation for continuous improvement.

A new development this year is our transition to reporting in accordance with EFRAG’s (European Financial Reporting Advisory Group) voluntary VSME standard for small and medium-sized enterprises. Although we are not subject to mandatory sustainability reporting, we may still be required to provide sustainability information to, for example, banks or customers that are subject to reporting obligations under the CSRD. In this context, the purpose of the VSME standard is to enable smaller companies to prepare sustainability information that meets such requirements.

An overview of our published sustainability reports can be found (in Norwegian) here.
